SWIMMING BY MAIL
Wooden Table with Mark
45cm x 1,40m x 80CM
SWIMMING BY MAIL is a wooden table where I swam on repeatedly. This, with the intention to effectively travel the distance from my bedroom to the nearest ocean without actually displacing my body.
"Swimming by Mail is a table which is also a witness of an absurdity that lets us see the imprint of the body that turned the wood into landscape. By constantly practicing swimming lessons delivered by e- mail, the table is not longer just a support or utensil, its becomes a place. The artist's action uselessly insists in transmuting the solid into fluid. The wood becomes the sea". Curator William Contreras.
